January 16 holiday in Pondicherry

PONDICHERRY, JAN.12. The Pondicherry Government has declared a holiday on January 16 in view of Tiruvalluvar Day. However this would not be a holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act, according to a communication from the Deputy Secretary to Home Department, S. Sundaravadivelu.

(Tiruvalluvar Day was listed as a restricted holiday and now has been declared a local holiday for all government offices.
