By Our Special Correspondent
VIJAYAWADA, JAN. 12. Ghosh Mahanadam, the three-day winter camp of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, concluded on a colourful note here on Monday. Swayamsevaks, attired in traditional khaki-white dress, staged the ghosh, route march with band, from Nalanda Vidya Niketan to Siddartha Academy. A total of 5,000 activists took part in the procession which began at Nalanda school and touched Ring Road, NTR statue at Patamata Centre, Benz Circle, Kandhari Hotel, Chennupati Bank, Jemmichettu Centre and Siddartha College and ending. The march was followed by `sarvajanikotsav' wherein the swayamsevaks displayed various formations. Swayamsevaks from several districts under the aegis of the RSS Andhra Pradesh (East) attended the camp. Speaking at the valedictory, Avadootha Peetadipathi, Ganapati Sachidananda Swami, stressed the need for protecting the ancient dharma by inculcating discipline and patriotism among the younger generation. In this context he expressed concern that the present generation was feeling shy of introducing itself as Hindus. "We should not feel shy of introducing ourselves with the name of our motherland," he said. Suresh Sony, all-India joint secretary, explained that ghosh played an important role in strengthening the unity concept in individuals. Our Staff Reporter writes: The high point of the camp was the `padasanchalana' procession, in which the participants were invigorated with patriotic songs. Seven hundred activists with various string, wind and percussion instruments played music.
