More aid sought for drought relief

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JAN. 13. The Revenue Minister, K.M. Mani, has urged the Central Government to provide more assistance to the State for drought relief.

Mr. Mani told a conference of Collectors here today that the agriculture sector of the State had suffered an estimated loss of Rs. 1,250 crores owing to the present drought. The Government would be submitting a memorandum to the Centre shortly seeking financial assistance.
