One killed in stampede

NANDED, JAN. 13. One person was killed and another injured in a stampede as the crowd jostled to get a glimpse of film personalities on the concluding day of the Nanded Lokutsav, a cultural festival, here last night.

Over two lakh people had gathered to get a view of filmstars Poonam Dhillon, Amrish Puri, Subhash Ghai, Mukesh Khanna, Laxmikant Berde, and singer Sukhwinder Singh on the stage.

Police resorted to a mild lathicharge after people started jostling to enter the stadium.
