Judev case: High Court directive to CBI
By Our Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI,
JAN. 13.
The Delhi High Court today restrained the Central Bureau of Investigation from arresting three of the five accused in the Rs. 9-lakh-bribery case involving the former Union Minister, Dilip Singh Judev. Justice R.S. Sodhi issued the direction on a joint petition by the three Bhupendra Singh Patel alias Rahul, and his two associates, Arvind Vijaymohan and Praveen Jain seeking quashing of the FIR against them.
Counsel, R.K. Anand, submitted that no case was made out against them as they had committed no offence. "Rather, they had done a service to the nation by exposing corruption in public life." However, on a request by the CBI, Mr. Justice Sodhi asked Rahul to appear before the agency on January 15 and his two associates on January 16 and 17 for questioning.
