WARANGAL, JAN. 13. Having received widespread condemnation and objections to the revised voters' list, the district administration has embarked upon a massive exercise of checking the revised list to arrive at the actual figures. The district Collector, in his latest submissions to the Election Commission team, has stated that there are 22,58,869 voters while the total population is 34,56,089. In the list submitted on December 24 last, the district population was 31,45,314 while the number of voters was 23,50,204, which accounted for 74.72 per cent of the population. However, in the latest records, it has been shown that the population increased by 3,10,775 while the number of voters has come down by 91,335. On an average, each of the 13 Assembly Constituencies registered 65 to 70 per cent of voters. With the EC team, which visited the district on Monday, expressing satisfaction, the district administration heaved a sigh of relief. The district Collector, N. Siva Sankar, said: "More than one lakh names had been deleted from the list."
