Khammam
By Our Staff Reporter
KHAMMAM, JAN. 13. A team of Election Commission officials led by K. J. Rao, visited the district on Monday night. The team visited Kusumanchi, and Khammam rural and urban mandals and reviewed the enrolment process through Form-6 claims as well as deletions. Mr. Rao who discussed the revision process with the Collector, Arvind Kumar, and the Joint Collector, Nadeem, said false information furnished deliberately in the applications submitted in bulk by political parties would be viewed seriously. He said the enquiry process was in progress and action would be initiated against those responsible for false statements. Out of 1.92 lakh Form-6 claims received, about 85,000 were considered for inclusion and there was a net drop of 97,000 voters from the electoral list because of deletions on various counts. The Election Commission team, which included the under secretary, Shandrif, expressed its satisfaction over the verification process. Representatives of the Congress, CPI and Telugu Desam Party also met the team members.
