Unaccounted cash found

HYDERABAD, JAN. 13. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths carried out surprise raid on the Sub-Registrar Office, Bhongir in Nalgonda district and found unaccounted cash of Rs. 26,950 collected by two private individuals allegedly at the behest of the Sub-Registrar and other staff in the office premises on Tuesday.

An amount of Rs. 2,270 of Government cash was also found short on verification in addition to other irregularities, according to the Director- General, ACB, A.K. Mohanty in a statement here today.

In another case, B. Siva Subrahmanyam, Panchayat Secretary of Sullurpet major panchayat was trapped by ACB sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000 from a retired sanitary maistry for releasing his already sanctioned earned leave amount of 240 days salary.

"He is being arrested and will be produced before the Special Court for ACB Cases, Nellore," he said.
