HYDERABAD, JAN.13. The Governor, Surjit Singh Barnala, greeted the people on the occasion of Sankranti. In a statement here, he said that Sankranti celebrations represent the best in our ancient and glorious tradition and binds all sections of the society together. Curbs on flying kites: Meanwhile, the City Police Commissioner has prohibited flying of kites on all thoroughfares and near places of worship in the interest of public order and tranquillity from 6 a.m. on January 14 to 6 a.m. on January 16. Those violating the orders are liable for prosecution.
