BANGALORE, JAN. 13. Management professionals and students have an important role to play in the economy of the nation, the Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, D.B. Chandre Gowda, has said. Speaking at the 10th convocation of the Mount Carmel Institute of Management here on Monday, he said good business management was essential to minimise government's interference, which was undesirable in an era of globalisation and liberalisation. In his convocation address, Ramesh Thomas, Principal Executive Officer, Equitor Management Consulting, urged the graduating students to venture into their professional world with confidence and self-respect, and contribute to society "as only women can do." About 60 students received their diplomas at the convocation.
