NEW DELHI, JAN. 13. The Gujarat police are planning to take blood samples of Sajal Jain, the main accused in the Ahmedabad gang-rape case, for DNA test. The accused is currently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Apollo Millennium Hospital at Karol Bagh. It is learnt that the police would attempt to obtain Sajal's blood samples on Wednesday and send them to Ahmedabad for lab test to find out whether he was involved in the criminal assault of Bijal Joshi, who later committed suicide. Bijal was allegedly assaulted by Sajal and his four friends, Sugam, Chandan, Mundan and Karan, in an Ahmedabad hotel room on December 31. Doctors attending to Sajal said he was recovering fast and they might shift him to general ward in a couple of days. A team of Ahmedabad police would wait here till he is discharged and ready to cooperate in the investigations. The are trying to identify the fifth accused, Karan Jain. Meanwhile, the Delhi police have not yet registered a case of attempt to suicide against Sajal, who had allegedly consumed some poisonous substance on January 9.
