Letters to the Editor
Sir, The former Lok Sabha Speaker, P.A. Sangma's consistent stand that he will have no truck with the Congress with Ms. Gandhi as the leader is noteworthy. With almost all political parties and leaders frantically chasing allies with a view to securing their political prospects, Mr. Sangma stands out as a leader who refuses to swallow his words for political gains. To see a political leader adopting a principled stand in the present day political scenario is something refreshing as well as reassuring.
N.K. Vijayan,
* * * Sir, The raking up of Ms. Gandhi's foreign origin issue is unfair. If Indians like Vasan Srinivasan in Australia, Bobby Jindal in Luisiana and so many in other countries could rise to eminent levels, why should there be a campaign against Ms. Gandhi here? Instead, elections should be fought on issues of overall development and corruption.
Maksam Tayeng,
