BANGALORE, JAN. 14. Spice Telecom has tied up with the Department of Posts to market Spice Uth pre-paid cards and recharge coupons through post offices in the State, according to Sean Dexter, Managing Director of the company's Karnataka Circle. He said Spice Uth cards and recharge coupons in all denominations would be sold at 62 post offices in Bangalore and 15 in Mysore. More post offices in other districts would be brought under the arrangement if the service became popular, he added. The company recently reduced "roaming charges" by up to 60 per cent. Subscribers, who used roaming facility, will be charged at Rs. 1.99 a minute for incoming calls and outgoing calls from one mobile phone to another. For outgoing calls to other networks, subscribers will be charged Rs. 1.99 a minute up to 200 km, Rs. 2.99 up to 500 km, and Rs. 3.99 beyond 500 km. However, while roaming in areas under Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (Mumbai and Delhi) and Reliance (North-East, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, and Orissa) networks, the old roaming rates will apply.
