Arun, Kushboo triumph

CHENNAI, JAN. 14. J. Arun and M. Kushboo of Velammal MHSS bagged the Velammal Rolling Trophy in the under-17 boys' and girls' sections respectively in the Thiruvallur District Rapid Chess Championship, which concluded at the Southern Pearl MHSS recently. As many as 20 schools from Thiruvallur district took part.

Dayal K. Ravi Adithiya from Bakthavachalam Vidyashram and P. Uthra of Velammal MHSS finished first in the U-15 boys' & girls' sections respectively.

Ms. R. Kanchanamala, Principal, Southern Pearl MHSS gave away the prizes. V. Kameshwaran, Vice President, Tamil Nadu Chess Association, presided the function and S. Balaraman, Secretary, TDCA, welcomed the gathering.

The Thiruvallur District team to represent Tamil Nadu State will comprise the top four in the competition.
