Mathews II to be felicitated

THRISSUR, JAN. 14. A public meeting will be held here on January 18 to felicitate the head of the Malankara Orthodox Church, Baselius Marthoma Mathews II, on his 90th birthday.

At a press meet conducted here on Wednesday, John Pulikkottil, general convener of the programme, said a procession would be taken out from the Gadesmon, Mannuthy, to the St. Ignatius Church here in honour of Mar Baselius.

The metropolitans, Abraham Mar Sevarios, Thomas Mar Athanasius, Yuhanon Mor Meletius and Zachariah Mar Nicholas, would also be honoured at the function , felicitating them for their efforts to unite the Malankara Orthodox Church, according to Mr. John Pulikkottil.
