Cherthala sub-district forges ahead

ALAPPUZHA, JAN. 14. Cherthala education sub-district was leading with 103 points at the end of the penultimate day of the 16th Alappuzha revenue district school youth festival, which will conclude here tomorrow.

Alappuzha sub-district was placed second with 89 points closely followed by Ambalappuzha sub- district with 88 points.

The Kalaprathibha and Kalathilakam titles in the Sanskrit festival were announced today. The Kalaprathibha title in the high school category in the Sanskrit festival was awarded to Mithun V. Naik of Government Model HSS Ambalappuzha. The Kalathilakam title in this category went to Raagini of SDV HSS, Alappuzha.

In the upper primary section of Sanskrit festival, the Kalaprathibha title went to Abhijit of Mannarasala UPS, Haripad. J. Amala of Chunakkara UPS was awarded the Kalathilakam title in the category.

V.M. Sudheeran, MP, would be the chief guest at the valedictory function, which would be held at 6 p.m.

The Alappuzha district panchayat president, C. S. Sujata, would give away the prizes to the winners. The MLA, D. Sugathan would preside over the function.
