Two-party Government

Sir, — This refers to the editorial, `Vajpayee versus?' (Jan. 14). It is true that the Mr. Vajpayee has attained lofty heights in the present political scenario. Once in the past, Mr. Vajpayee had mooted the idea of a presidential form of Government for India with a two-party system. With the electorate now vexed with all the permutations and combinations tried by the various parties so far, has not the time come for implementing that suggestion?

T. Rajeswar Rao,
