`Centre failed to release grain'
By Our Special Correspondent
BANGALORE,
JAN. 17.
The Minister for Agriculture, H.K. Patil, has said the Government could not adequately implement employment programmes under drought relief works owing to the delay in the release of foodgrains on the part of the Union Government. Replying to the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address to the joint session of the Legislature, in the Legislative Council on Friday, Mr. Patil said the Government had done its best to provide relief to those affected by drought despite the failure of the Centre to release adequate funds and foodgrains in time.
