BANGALORE, JAN. 17. The High Court of Karnataka has ordered notices to the Secretary of the Health Department, the Drugs Controller, and the Drugs Inspector on a petition filed by an industrial unit manufacturing black disinfectant. In the petition, Vee Yes Industries of Hebbal, Mysore, said that it was involved in the manufacture of black disinfectant. On December 10, 2003, the Drugs Controller issued a notice to the unit asking it to stop supply of seven batches of black disinfectant, as they did not conform to the prescribed standards. The company said it had got the disinfectant tested at several laboratories and the test reports indicated that the product conformed to the standards. When this was brought to the notice of the Drugs Controller, the authority did not reverse its earlier order. The petitioner questioned the order of the Drugs Controller and urged the court to quash it.
