BANGALORE, JAN. 17. The Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, has demanded the resignation of the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, on moral grounds, and said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a first information report against a firm of which his relative is the chairman, in connection with alleged irregular routing of money from the Provident Fund of a public sector unit to Union Government bonds. He was participating in the discussion on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address to the joint session of the Legislature, in the Legislative Assembly on Friday.of workers. Following an objection raised by the Home Minister, M. Mallikarjun Kharge, against Mr. Shettar referring to a matter which had been entrusted to the CBI, the Speaker ordered expunction of reference to the chairman of the unit.
