Kanthalot cremated

KANNUR, JAN. 17. Hundreds of people, including political party leaders, today paid their homage to the veteran Communist, freedom fighter and former Minister, Kanthalot Kunhambu, who died at his residence near Pappinissery here last night. The body was cremated at the Payyambalam crematorium here in the afternoon.

The body was kept at the house in the morning for the public to pay their homage to the departed leader. Later, the body was brought to the CPI district office here. Before becoming the Forest Minister in the K. Karunakaran-led Ministry in 1977, he had served as CPI district secretary.
