TIRUCHI, JAN. 17 . The city traffic police have announced regulations for traffic and parking of mofussil buses around the central bus stand on Sunday evening, to cope with a likely surge in the number of passengers bound for various destinations from here.

In fact, the numbers passengers bound for Chennai from here and vice versa will be boosted by the arrival of passengers bound for Chennai from the southern districts.

Buses bound for Karur have to go through the MGR Statue, the Vestry School and Royal Road to reach the central bus stand. After loading passengers, they have to proceed through Femina Hotel, William's Road and Othakkadai. They will not be allowed inside the bus stand.

Buses bound for Thanjavur and beyond should pick up passengers in front of Abhirami Hotel outside the bus stand, and proceed through the Kalaiarangam Theatre, the Head Post Office junction and the TVS Tollgate. These buses too will not be allowed into the central bus stand.

All buses bound for Chennai will start from Platform No. I (the bay from where Thanjavur buses leave at present) in the central bus stand. All omni-buses will be allowed only till the Aristo junction to pick up passengers. They will not be allowed near the central bus stand area.
