BANGALORE, JAN. 17. The senior Vice-President of the Janata Party, R. Pradeep Kumar Reddy, has called upon Opposition parties to come together and put up a straight contest against the Congress to ensure the defeat of the ruling party in the coming Legislative Assembly elections in the State. In a statement here today, he said, "In the present political scenario, we strongly feel that the entire Opposition, including the Bharatiya Janata Party, should come together to oust the Congress. The Congress rule has pushed the State to a precarious situation. It has proved that it is a `hi-tech corrupt party' interested in protecting politicians and officials. The top leaders of the Congress have been openly defending the Ministers involved in the stamp paper scam despite the Opposition parties coming up with documentary evidence to show the nexus between politicians and the accused in the scam."
