Children's film festival from tomorrow

HASSAN, JAN. 17. The district administration, in association with the Children's Film Society of India, will organise a children's film festival here for four days from Monday.

The Deputy Commissioner, M. Maheswara Rao, told presspersons on Saturday that the district in-charge Minister, H.C. Srikantaiah, would inaugurate the festival at Bhanu cinema.

He said children from various schools in Hassan, Arsikere, Banavara, Channarayapatna, Hirisave, Holenarsipur, Sakleshpur, Belur, and Arsikere would participate in the festival.

He said the district administration had plans to make the festival an annual event.

Twelve films, including Chinnari Mutta directed by T.S. Nagabharana, Chukki Chandrama by Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, Jamboo Savaari by K.S.L. Swamy, and English films, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and Beast, Frog Prince, Hansel and Gratel, Red Riding Hood, besides Charlie Chaplin's movies, and a cartoon film would be screened during the festival. An entry fee of Rs. two had been fixed for children and the films would be screened in the morning, he said.
