MYSORE, JAN. 17. More than 1,000 activists of the National Students Union of India from here will participate in the Raj Bhavan Chalo on Monday in protest against the Union Government's decision to reduce the grant-in-aid to universities from the next academic year. The union said in a press release that this would result in a steep increase in the admission fee, affecting students from the middle- and low-income families and denying education to rural students. Accusing the National Democratic Alliance Government of betraying the trust of unemployed graduates, the union said it had not kept the promise to create additional jobs. This was a continuation of the Union Government's "anti-people and anti-farmer" policies being pursued since assuming power five years ago.
