CUDDAPAH, JAN. 17. The police arrested 19 persons for participating in cockfights. They also recovered Rs. 8,290 cash, 12 birds and 15 knives from them near Ayyavaripalle village in Vempalle mandal last evening. The Vempalle Sub-Inspector of Police, Vinod Kumar, and the Simhadripuram Sub-Inspector, Chinna Peddaiah, conducted the raid. Those arrested belonged to Vempalle, Pendlimarry and Veerapunayunipalle mandals, police said.
