Light rain likely

NEW DELHI JAN. 17 . A cloudy day awaits Delhiites on Sunday with the weatherman also forecasting light rain or thundershower in some parts following a mist and fog-laden morning. And with the minimum temperature expected to hover around the 9 degrees Celsius mark, cold conditions will prevail.

On Saturday, Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 20.5 degrees and a minimum of 11.7 degrees Celsius while at Palam it was 21 and 11.7 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum and minimum humidity recorded at Safdarjung was 95 per cent and 62 per cent respectively. At Palam the corresponding figures stood at 97 per cent and 56 per cent.

Man robbed, friend stabbed

NEW DELHI JAN. 17 . One person was caught by the public and beaten up before being handed over to the police after he, along with his accomplices, allegedly robbed a person and stabbed his friend at Nand Nagri in North-East Delhi on Friday night.

According to the police, Subhash, a resident of Amit Vihar in Nand Nagri, was returning along with his friend, Ram Prasad, when the two were intercepted by four persons at Harsh Vihar in Nand Nagri last night. The four forced Subhash to part with his wallet. However, his friend offered resistance following which one of them stabbed him.

Woman found murdered

NEW DELHI JAN. 17. A 65-year-old woman was found murdered under highly mysterious circumstances in her house at Kanjhawala in North-West Delhi today.

According to the police, the body of Hukma Devi, wife of late Karan Singh, who used to live alone in a house at Salahpur Majra Dabas in Kanjhawala, was spotted by his daughter Krishna, who lives in the adjacent house, around 8-30 a.m.

Bus kills boy

NEW DELHI JAN. 17 . A 17-year-old boy of Madangir was killed when a Blueline bus plying on route No. 526 knocked down his motorcycle at Ambedkar Nagar in South Delhi today.

Girl assaulted

NEW DELHI JAN. 17. A 19-year-old girl was allegedly lured by a young man to the Capital on the pretext of providing her a job and then criminally assaulted by him at Shakarpur in East Delhi.

Driver hurt in clash

NEW DELHI JAN. 17. The race between two Blueline buses took a violent turn on Friday night when the driver of a bus was seriously injured by the staff of another bus in New Delhi.

According to the police, the buses, plying on route No. 944 and 980, were going through the same stretch on Mandir Marg last night when they tried to overtake each other. Later, the staff of both the buses had a heated argument between them which soon gave way to fisticuffs. The driver of the bus on route No. 980, Ashok Kumar, sustained serious injuries ..

Woman suffers burns

NEW DELHI JAN. 17. A 32-year-old woman sustained burns when her clothes caught fire while she was cooking in her house in New Delhi on Friday night.

According to the police, Babita, wife of Sunil Kumar, a resident of Princess Park on Copernicus Marg, was cooking food when her clothes caught fire

Drug addict kills man

NEW DELHI JAN. 17. A 22-year-old autorickshaw driver was allegedly stabbed to death by a drug addict following an altercation over a petty issue at Prasad Nagar in Central Delhi on Friday night.

He has been identified as Mithilesh, a resident of Kakrola Mor. The Prasad Nagar police have registered a case of murder and arrested the drug addict Kanhaiya.
