BJP forms panels for selection, campaign

CHENNAI, JAN. 17. Even as political parties are finalising alliances for the general elections, the Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party today announced the setting up of separate committees to select candidates and organise campaigning. The State president, C.P. Radhakrishnan, has appointed a 15-member committee, headed by K.N. Lakshmanan and including the Union Ministers, Pon. Radhakrishnan, and S. Thirunavukkarasar, for recommending alliance and for selecting the candidates, says a party release.
