TIRUPATI, JAN. 17. The Union Minister for Labour, Sahib Singh Verma, paid a visit to the ESI hospital at Avilala here on Saturday. The Minister is here on a two-day pilgrimage to Tirumala. During the inspection, he questioned the hospital staff about when the building was constructed, after he saw the cracks in the walls and the patches on the floor. On finding that the building is not very old, he expressed his annoyance. Checking the functioning of the equipment, the Minister got an abdominal scan done. Mr. Verma later opened a reception counter and pharmacy counter at the hospital. G.V.V.S.K. Bhushanam, Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) director, Hyderabad and Vijaya Premalatha, superintendent of the hospital were among those present.
