HYDERABAD, JAN. 17. The police on Saturday removed the relay hunger strike camp of the junior doctors at Gandhi Hospital allegedly at the instance of the hospital superintendent, a spokesman of the Joint Action Committee of Andhra Pradesh Junior Doctors' Association, said. According to him, the tent was removed and the fasting junior doctors -- Tirumal Reddy and Rajasekhar Goud -- continued their indefinite fast after a new tent was put up. Representatives of various political parties visited the camp and expressed solidarity with the striking junior doctors. They criticised the Government for collecting user charges in hospitals and for permitting private medical colleges without adequate infrastructure.

The city branch of Andhra Pradesh Hospitals and Nursing Homes' Association and the Indian Medical Association, Airport Branch, are organising a round table on January 20 on `Private medical colleges and hospital services' at Chiran Fort, Begumpet. Sivaprasad Rao and representatives of the AP Government Doctors' Association, private medical colleges, AP Junior Doctors' Association, IMA and the Health and Medical Department will attend, according to the conveners, N. L. N. Sharma and Y. Ravinder Rao.
