COIMBATORE, JAN. 17. For the first time in the history of the dairy co-operatives, the Coimbatore District Co-operative Milk Producer's Union (CDCMPU) - Aavin, has resolved to allocate nine per cent of the profit as dividend for its dairy farmers for the years 1982-1983 to 1989-1990. It has been disbursed. A release from the Managing Director, A. Subramaniam, said that the decision was taken at the general body meeting of the Union presided by its special officer and District Collector, N. Muruganandam. The MD said that Aavin had already cleared all its loans with the National Dairy Development Board. On the products portfolio, Aavin was gearing up to launch toffee and other special milk sweets. As soon as procedural formalities of patenting were completed, they would be launched.
