COIMBATORE, JAN. 17. The Mayor, T. Malaravan, has sanctioned Rs. 20 lakhs to wards 71 and 72 for various works. Of this, Rs.14.50 lakhs would be spent on construction of overhead tanks, extension of borewell lines, and various other works to augment water supply in both wards. Nearly Rs. 5.50 lakhs would be spent on strengthening the bridge that lined the Sathyamangalam Road with the Maniyakarampalayam Main Road. The Mayor announced the allocation at a meeting conducted recently under the Mayor's Public Grievance Redressal Programme. Already, 22 works costing Rs.27.78 lakhs in ward 71 and 51 works worth Rs. 39.90 lakhs in ward 72 had been completed, he said.
