HYDERABAD, JAN. 17. Imparting values and strengthening the moral fibre among youth is the need of the hour. This is all the more important with fast erosion of values, said speakers at the centenary celebration of Rosary Convent High School here on Saturday. The City Police Commissioner, R. P. Singh, who was the chief guest attributed the present unrest and chaos in society to falling moral values. "In the race for material comforts we are losing sight of values," he said. Mr. Singh spoke of the contributions made by the missionaries in the field of education. Rosary Convent had done a lot for the education of girl child, he said. I. V. Subba Rao, Principal Secretary, Education, also spoke. Mary Mathias, Principal, spoke about the progress made by the school during the past century. The school started by Franciscan Missionaries of Mary with a mere 54 students in 1903 now had 3,800 students on its rolls. Earlier, the students presented a colourful welcome dance.
