ISLAMABAD, JAN. 18 . Keeping alive the spirit of the January 6 joint statement to strive for resolution of all differences through dialogue, India and Pakistan today decided to continue their quest for sorting out differences on the construction of the Baglihar dam on the Chenab in Kashmir. At the end of three days of discussions, Indian and Pakistani delegations agreed to submit reports to their respective Governments on each other's viewpoint. The meeting, which was held on the request of the Indian side, was considered crucial for the resolution of the issue bilaterally. The request for the meeting came after Pakistan served a second notice on India in early December, asking it to immediately suspend work on the project and settle the issue amicably by December 31, 2003.
