"Commitment was NTR's forte"

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, JAN. 18. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has said that NTR was simply non-pareil in politics and films.

Speaking at a meeting at NTR Bhavan in connection with the death anniversary of the founder TDP president, N.T. Rama Rao, Mr. Naidu paid tributes to the late leader saying excellence and commitment were his forte.

NTR had brought all parties from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a single platform for restoration of democracy after his Government was pulled down in 1984.

The best way the TDP can pay homage to the late leader was by fighting poverty, ensuring social justice to weaker sections and striving for the uplift of women, he added.

The meeting was also addressed by the NTR Memorial Trust member, D. Sitaramaiah, MPs -- M. Jagannatham, Vanga Geetha and Laljan Basha - the APSRTC Chairperson, Sobha Nagi Reddy, and TDP general secretary, K. Kala Venkat Rao.
