43 IAS officers shifted, new posts created

JAIPUR, JAN. 18 . In the biggest reshuffle of top bureaucracy after taking up the reins of Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Government in the State today transferred 43 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and created the new posts of Additional Chief Secretaries in the Home and Justice, Mines, Forest and Environment, and Public Works Departments.

Surendra Kumar, one of the seniormost IAS officers in the State -- who was the Chairman of the Revenue Board -- was posted as the Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Justice, and ex-officio Chief Vigilance Commissioner, while Harish Nayyar was shifted to the post vacated by him in the Revenue Board. The Chairman of the Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited, Anil Vaishya, was shifted as the Additional Chief Secretary, Mines, with the additional charge of PWD and Forest and Environment Department.

The Principal Secretary, Home and Justice, D.S. Sagar, was shifted as the Chairman, State Civil Services Appellate Tribunal, and the Tourism Secretary, Arvind Mayaram, as the Director, Harish Chandra Mathur State Institute of Public Administration.

The Divisional Commissioners of Jaipur and Jodhpur, Rohit R. Brandon and Khemraj Chaudhary, respectively, were also shifted. Rajiv Maharshi, who has returned from deputation to the Central Government, was posted as the Secretary, Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry, while the Member-Secretary of the State Planning Board, S. Ahmed, was transferred as the Principal Secretary, Labour Department. A.K. Pandey was shifted as the Principal Secretary, Food Security and Disaster Management, Parmesh Chandra as the Principal Secretary, Revenue, Colonisation, Waqf and Soldiers' Welfare, and F.S. Charan as the Chairman of the Rajasthan Taxation Board. R.R. Haldia was transferred as the Principal Secretary, Medical and Health, Meenakshi Hooja as the Chairperson of the Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited, K.L. Meena as the Commissioner-I, Departmental Inquiries, and T.R. Verma as the Director, Indira Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sansthan.

C.K. Mathew, who was shifted in the first round of reshuffle as the Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, was given the additional charge of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Vitaran Nigam, Jaipur, Ajmer and Jodhpur. B.B. Mohanti was shifted as the Commissioner-III, Departmental Inquiries, and R.N. Meena as the Chairman of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation.

V.S. Singh was posted as the PWD Secretary, Ramlubhaya as the Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, Nilima Johari as the Secretary, Art and Culture and Director General of Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, Lalit K. Pawar as the Secretary, Mines and Petroleum, and G.S. Sandhu as the Secretary, Medical and Health and Ayurveda. O.P. Meena was transferred as the Secretary, Family Welfare, S.N. Thanvi as the Commissioner, Jaipur Development Authority, Ashok Jain as the Secretary, Cooperative Department, Rakesh Verma as the Managing Director, Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation, and Rajhans Upadhyay as the Managing Director of the Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation. D.K. Goyal was shifted as the Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, R.K. Meena as the Secretary, Relief and Disaster Management, V.C. Sharma as the Industries Secretary, Vinod Zutshi as the Tourism Secretary, Damodar Sharma as the Secretary, Small Scale Industries and Khadi and Gramodyog, and Bharat Ram Meena as the Secretary, Public Health Engineering and Ground Water Department.

Purushottam Agrawal, earlier posted as the Secretary, Finance (Revenue), was asked to await his new posting orders, while Ajit Kumar Singh was shifted as the new Divisional Commissioner of Jaipur. Mukesh Kumar Sharma was transferred as the Personnel Secretary, B.N. Sharma as the Secretary, Primary, Secondary and Sanskrit Education, and Usha Sharma as the Secretary, Programme Implementation Department. Prem Singh Mehra was shifted as the Special Secretary, Home, Jagdish Chandra as the Chairman and Managing Director of the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation, and Shikhar Agrawal as the Managing Director of the Rajasthan Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited, Ajmer.
