Hyderabad tops in rejection of voter applications

HYDERABAD, JAN. 18. Though Hyderabad (Urban) district accounted for a meagre percentage of rejections of the applications received as part of the summary revision of rolls, it topped at the State-level in terms of total number of rejections.

Of the 7,88,417 applications received for enrolment in Hyderabad, 4,20,478 were rejected.

East Godavari stood second with 2,07,413 rejections, followed by Guntur and Prakasam with 1,98,902 and 1,96,562 rejections respectively.

After additions and deletions, Hyderabad, has the largest number of voters --38,60,904.

East Godavari comes next with 31,01,772 voters and Guntur follows with 29,64,112.
