UDUPI, JAN. 18. Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Math said on Sunday that some intellectuals and secularists were trying to divide the Hindu community. Participating in the "Darbar'' of the Paryaya festival here to mark the ascension of Vishwapriya Tirtha Swamiji of Admar Math to the "Paryaya Peetha'' here, the swamiji said that according to Madhwacharya, exponent of Dwaita philosophy, people belonging to various castes could improve their status through devotion to God. But some intellectuals and secularists were misleading them stating that Madhwacharya was against Dalits. People should be aware of such attempts. Lauding the achievements of Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swamiji of Palimar Math, Vishwesha Tirtha Swamiji said that his "Chinnara Santharpane'' and "Chinnara Sushrushe'' schemes had helped many poor students. Vishwapriya Tirtha Swamiji, Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swamiji, Vishwothama Tirtha Swamiji, Vidyasagar Tirtha Swamiji, Lakshmivara Tirtha Swamiji, Vishwaprasanna Tirtha Swamiji, and Vidyavallabha Tirtha Swamiji were present.
