NOIDA, JAN. 18. Fourteen policemen, including the Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order), Bua Singh, were injured in a pitched battle with agitators in Kasna in Greater Noida today. Violent protests against the scrapping of the Gautam Budh Nagar district continued for the second day, forcing the administration to deploy additional paramilitary forces. Protesters flattened a police post and two police vehicles and damaged railway property leading to lathicharge at three places, including the venue of a meeting attended by the Union Minister of State for Information Technology and Communications, Ashok Pradhan. Twenty-two persons were arrested. PTI
