A nightmare
Dug up by various agencies at different points of time and at many places, (by both government as well as private agencies) the road is in a poor state. Full of potholes it is a nightmare for anyone who negotiates it with any kind of vehicle. At best of times, only patchwork has been done to fill the potholes, which have reappeared soon thereafter. S. Sampath, Mylapore
Delay in arrival of textbook
It is obvious that neither the university authorities, nor the chairman, Board of Studies in Telugu, besides the respective Telugu departments of the colleges, seem to be concerned about this serious matter, though examinations are hardly three months away. Strictly speaking, the Board of Studies ought to have monitored this situation. However, in reality the chairman does not look into such matters of the U.G. courses as the Board is chaired by the University Head of Department whose priority is the P.G. courses. M. Ramachandra Rao, Ayanavaram
Not enough
This is inconvenient and disadvantageous to the early morning and night travellers, as they have to go quite a long way to buy tickets from the counters on the western side. It will, therefore, be of helpful to the public, if these counters functioned between 5.00 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. S. Bakthavathsalan, Guindy
Undue delay
The South Madras MP, Mr. T. R. Baalu, has allocated a few lakhs of rupees for the construction of a bus terminus at Chromepet. But the authority concerned is yet to take up the work.

Unkept assurance
The bill did come but was without the required statement. The Accounts Officer, telephone revenue informed me that this had happened due to oversight to many like me. I was assured that the missing statement would be sent in a `short time'. Till date, I have not received it though I have paid the bill in full. N. Radhakrishnan, Nungambakkam
