Quarrel with wife proves fatal for man

BANGALORE, JAN. 18. A woman allegedly poured hot cooking oil on her husband, leading to his death during a quarrel in her house near Anjaneya Temple on J.C. Nagar Main Road.

The J.C.Nagar Police said the woman, Subbalakshi, a flower vendor, poured hot oil on her husband Satish (53), an employee of BHEL, on Thursday.

She was upset that her husband had come home drunk even on the festival day and the couple had quarrelled the whole day. In a fit of anger, she allegedly poured boiling oil on him.

He was admitted to Victoria Hospital and later shifted to St. John's Hospital. He died on Sunday. Subbalakshmi has been arrested. The couple have two children aged 13 and 18.

Arrested: The City Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths arrested a 40-year-old man and recovered brown sugar worth Rs. 25,000 from him while he was trying to sell it to others on Telegraph Street, Venkateshwarapura in Kadugondanahalli Police Station limits on Satudray.

The CCB said the accused, identified as Arif, was in possession of 10.5 grams of brown sugar. A case has been regsitered in Kadugondanahalli police station.

Man dies: An ailing 20-year-old man died while being shifted to Victoria Hospital on Saturday. Police said the 5.4-foot tall man was carrying outpatient card of the hospital and that of a private hospital.

The name mentioned in the card was Raja. His body has been kept in the Victoria Hospital mortuary.
