BANGALORE, JAN. 18. Several residents of J.P.Nagar V Phase took to the streets on Sunday night in protest against the "illegal closure" of 15th Main Road, which was "the only link" from their locality to the outer ring road. A "private owner" had contended that the land on which the approach route ran through belonged to him, as it was part of "agricultural land" owned by him some 20 years ago, the angry residents said. The "owner" had "dug the road" making it impossible for vehicles to pass through it. "Our children can't go to school in time if the school buses can't come in," said a resident of Platinum Enclave. The alternative route was to take a detour to Bannerghatta Road, she added. Another resident said that another protest would be held on Monday if the situation did not improve. The locality comes under the jurisdiction of the Bommanahalli City Municipal Council.
