`TDP will get more than 200 seats'

By Our Special Correspondent

RAJAHMUNDRY, JAN. 19. Rebutting the claim of the former Chief Minister, N. Janardhana Reddy, that the Congress on its own would get 180 seats in the Assembly elections, the Finance Minister, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, has asserted that the Telugu Desam Party on the strength of its performance would bag more than 200 seats.

Mr. Ramakrishnudu, who along with the Minister for Cooperation, Chikkala Ramachandra Rao, and the Zilla Parishad chief, Dunna Janardhana Rao, participated in several welfare programmes in the district pointed out that twice the TDP had bagged more than 200 seats in the Assembly polls. The party would repeat the performance this time too, he added. Mr. Janardhana Reddy was just doubling the number of seats the Congress had in the dissolved Assembly, but it would not get even half the number, he said.
