T.N. seeks Cauvery water

NEW DELHI, JAN. 19. Tamil Nadu today sought the immediate release of seven tmc ft of water by Karnataka to save the standing crops in the Cauvery basin, at a meeting of the Cauvery Monitoring Committee here.

The request was made by the Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary, Lakshmi Pranesh, at the meeting today.

The Karnataka Chief Secretary, B.S. Patil, said he would convey the request to his Government. — PTI
