HYDERABAD, JAN. 19. Believe it or not! The Auto Drivers Joint Action Committee (JAC) has offered for a reduction in minimum fare from Rs. 8, to Rs. 7, if the Government were to accept its other demands and the prevailing fare fixation system being followed in Pune. In Pune, the minimum distance was only one km compared to two km in Hyderabad and the principle behind it was to keep autos available for the public, for shorter distances too, Mohd. Amanullah Khan, JAC Convener said. On Monday, a delegation of JAC members met the Additional Transport Commissioner, V. Malyadri and discussed the `problems' of auto drivers for over two hours. On Tuesday, the final discussions are to be held with the Transport Commissioner, C.R. Biswal.
