By Our Special Correspondent
CHENNAI,
JAN. 20.
After suspending its operations for nearly a decade, the Bahrain-based NRI, A. Nasir, who floated the East West Airlines (EWA), today announced the re-launch of the airline from February 28 with the inaugural flight from New Delhi to Kochi.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mr. Nasir said that to begin with, the airline would acquire 11 modern aircraft. Negotiations are at an advanced stage with the Boeing and the Airbus Industrie, and a decision would be taken by next week. He said that the airline planned to reconnect 34 destinations. "We are also keen on flying to the neighbouring South Asian countries and ultimately to West Asia."
