Kondaiah's call to organise `grameena rangotsavas'

BELLARY, JAN. 20. K.C. Kondaiah, MLC, has emphasised the need to organise "grameena rangotsavas" at the taluk level to promote art and culture.

Speaking at the valedictory function of the three-day "Rangotsava" at Gadiganur village near here on Monday, Mr. Kondaiah appealed to the people to encourage artistes.

The "Rangotsava" was organised by the Karnataka Nataka Academy, the district administration, the zilla panchayat, and the Kannada and Culture Department.

It was inaugurated on Saturday by Subhadramma Mansur, artiste and vocalist. G. Umesh, zilla panchayat President, presided over the function. K.S.L. Swamy, MLC, spoke.

Bheemalingamma, Vice-President of the Sandur Taluk Panchayat, H. Gangadhar, president of the Land Development Bank, Sali Siddaiah Swamy, and M. Kumarappa, taluk panchayat members, Gadekallu Basappa, Chairman of the Ashraya committee, K. Sangappa, member of the Aradhana committee, Govindraj, director of the BDCC Bank, and Ramesh Gowda, Convenor of the academy, were present.
