Final list of electoral rolls published

HYDERABAD, JAN. 20. Election authorities on Tuesday published the State's final list of electoral rolls. The final rolls, which will be a master guide, contain the names of 5.10 crores of voters with their addresses and other personal details. The authorities also furnished copies of the rolls to recognised political parties, gram panchayats and registered residents' welfare societies. Verification of fresh applications for enrolment and those already on the rolls led to deletion of a record number of 93.4 lakh names.

The CEO, M. Narayana Rao, told reporters the rolls would be displayed for seven days at 38,000 polling station locations, and objections or pleas against deletions or inclusions could be filed by political parties, individuals and welfare societies before the appellate authority, the DEOs, within 15 days.
