Counselling

COIMBATORE, JAN. 20. The Coimbatore Corporation will conduct counselling for filling up the post of Secondary Grade Teachers in its schools on January 31, at the Corporation Girls' Higher Secondary in R.S. Puram. Teachers working in Government, municipal and panchayat schools, seeking transfers to Corporation schools, could attend the counselling, a press release from the Corporation said.

Surprise checks

In surprise checks carried out at canteens in theatres, a team of officials from the Department of Labour detected instances of sale of packaged items over the maximum retail price (MRP).

Officials, acting on complaints from the public, found nine canteens resorting to sale of bottled soft drinks and packaged food items at prices over the MRP. Action has been initiated against the licencees of the canteens.

In a press release, the Labour Inspector, C. Thangavel, has called upon the public to write to the Labour Inspector, Department of Labour, Dr. Balasundaram Road, Coimbatore-18, whenever they came across instances of such violation.

Grievances day

A grievances redressal meeting for farmers will be held at the Collector's office on January 23, a press release from the district administration said.

Camp

The PSG Hospitals will conduct a free consultation camp on January 25, for spine and back problems.
