BANGALORE, JAN. 20. M.R. Doreswamy, founder of the People's Education Society (P.E.S.) group of institutions, in a rejoinder on Tuesday said Krishna Singh, a member of the Academic Council of Bangalore University, had made a false allegation against P.E.S. College. Prof. Doreswamy said Mr. Singh's allegation that P.E.S. College had admitted 60 students instead of 40 for the Bachelor in Hotel Management course during 2001 - 02 was far from truth. The college management had admitted only 30 students during that academic year as per government rules, he said. The intake for the BHM programme allocated to the college in 2001 - 02 was 30 and it had admitted 30 students only, he said. Mr. Singh's allegation at the Academic Council meeting on January 19 was totally "false, misleading, and damaging" to the image of the institution, he added. "We welcome the Academic Council decision to institute an objective inquiry to clear the college of the false allegation," Prof. Doreswamy said.
